About World Business Lenders ( World Business Lenders (WBL) provides general purpose short-term real estate collateralized commercial loans to a broad customer base comprised of small and medium sized businesses throughout the United States that lack access to traditional funding. WBL is a U.S. based company with a 100% remote workforce.
This is a remote Contract/Consultant position. Generally, working hours will be 9:00am-6:00pm Eastern, Monday through Friday, although hours worked may be greater based upon operational requirements. The job requires excellent oral and written command of the English language.
Job Description: The Econometric Analyst will be responsible for developing, updating, and maintaining statistical models used in credit risk forecasting and financial analysis. This role requires strong statistical knowledge and proficiency in Excel and VBA for model creation and updates.
The Econometric Analyst will collaborate closely with the Data Team Lead and other departments to ensure the accuracy and reliability of risk models and reports.
Essential Functions:- Create and refine models for credit risk, probability of default, expected losses, and other key risk metrics.
- Perform statistical analysis on financial data to derive insights and support decision-making processes.
- Analyze historical data and trends to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of the models.
- Conduct regular testing and validation of models to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Implement updates to the models as new data and information become available, and provide actionable insights to support business decisions.
- Assist in the preparation of risk management reports by providing data-driven insights from the models.
- 100% fluency in English, with exceptional English verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in statistical modeling, econometrics, or related roles preferred.
- Solid understanding of statistical methods and quantitative analysis.
- Experience in developing and maintaining financial risk models.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Microsoft: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint required; Teams experience required.
- You must have your own laptop or desktop to use (the company does not supply equipment).
