About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Jr. Buyer to join our purchasing team in Colombia. Under the leadership of the Supply Chain Manager , the Jr. Buyer will play a key role in ensuring optimal inventory levels, managing procurement processes, and supporting sales operations. - Process and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in pricing, rolling dates, and incoming shipment details.
- Procure designated products under the guidance of the Purchasing Manager to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Provide real-time updates to sales teams on mill pricing, product availability, and rolling schedules.
- Develop and leverage KPIs to monitor inventory levels, assess vendor performance, and enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Support the sales team by quoting and sourcing products, ensuring availability and accurate scheduling.
- Expedite vendor deliveries to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Identify and resolve logistical challenges to maintain seamless operations.
- Maintain an updated spreadsheet tracking incoming shipments and coordinate with the receiving manager.
- Provide accounts receivable with accurate documentation for mill direct billing.
- Investigate and resolve accounts payable discrepancies, verifying vendor invoices for pricing accuracy.
- Source new inventory suppliers while maintaining and strengthening existing vendor relationships.
- Communicate vendor updates and changes to branch management.
- Review daily sales orders to identify urgent inventory replenishment needs.
- Participate in physical inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Assist with overflow tasks from other branches as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a relevant field is required.
- Experience: 2-3 years of related experience in procurement or supply chain.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of carbon structural, plate, hot rolled, tubing product/producer is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- High proficiency in multitasking and communication.
- Strong work ethic and problem-solving ability.
