We currently have an Operations Freight Broker position open. As an Operations Freight Broker, you will play a crucial role in coordinating the transportation of goods for our clients. You will be responsible for managing the logistics of freight movement from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency. The ideal Candidate is well organized, customer-focused, and has good communication skills. They must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment, and can handle stressful situations. Job Requirements: This position is for an experienced candidate. The expected length of relevant prior experience beyond formal education is 3 to 5 years in freight brokerage, logistics coordination, or transportation management. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred) Able to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment Able to work constructively under stress and pressure, especially under tight time constraints Well Organized Highly developed oral and written communication skills Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with carriers and customers. Communication skills, both verbal and written. Job Responsibilities: Act as a liaison between the warehouse, terminals, dispatch, and agents daily, to ensure cargo is loaded, stowed, and received by the customer in a timely manner. Work with outside customers or internal departments to develop a schedule for the delivery of products or resources. Respond to customer requests on shipment status and other information in a timely manner. Provide quality customer service, answer/reply to all phone calls/voicemails, and emails by the end of the day. Monitor the flow of resources through the process to ensure on-time delivery. Troubleshoot problems to make sure deliveries remain on schedule. Assure that all documents are accurate according to company standards, procedures, and regulations. Coordinate the transportation of freight by identifying the most efficient routes, carriers, and modes of transportation (e.g., trucking, rail). Build and maintain relationships with carriers, negotiating rates, contracts, and service agreements to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service. Analyze freight data and industry trends to optimize routing, pricing strategies, and operational efficiency. Manage billing and invoicing processes, reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner. Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, dispatch, and finance, to coordinate and support the successful execution of client contracts and initiatives. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance overall operational performance.
