Overview Senior DevOps Engineer role at Peek. The team follows a remote-first approach with a distributed workforce in locations including San Francisco, New York, Austin, Nashville, Salt Lake City, Santiago, Medellin, and beyond. The Role We are looking for our next Senior DevOps Engineer. You will passionately contribute with infrastructure-as-code, accelerating development and deployment processes, increasing reliability, and scaling our platform as our company grows. This is a remote role with the selected candidate residing in Mexico or Colombia. This is an on-call position and may require you to work outside of normal business hours for infrastructure upgrades and maintenance. We are committed to maintaining a healthy and balanced schedule. About The Team We’re a small DevOps team supporting the Engineering organization, building applications on Kubernetes and AWS. We own all aspects of the SDLC and strive to automate self-service wherever possible. We practice SRE, continuously improving observability and building infrastructure-as-code. Security and compliance are integral to our workflows to meet regulatory and organizational standards. The team is remote and collaborates with various departments, emphasizing strong communication. About You You are an experienced cloud engineer with at least 5+ years managing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS), including services such as EC2, EKS, RDS (Aurora Serverless), Elasticache (Redis), Route53, S3, ECR, IAM security, VPC, and Security Groups. You have a track record operating large-scale, high-availability, asynchronous, distributed systems, deploying and managing service-oriented architectures, and solving scaling challenges. You have hands-on experience running Kubernetes in production and are skilled with infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform or Pulumi. You design and implement robust monitoring and reporting solutions using tools like Datadog and Sentry, and have a solid understanding of networking (routers, switches, load balancing, DNS, VPN, TLS). You have experience with source control and CI/CD systems such as Git/GitHub, Jenkins, GitLab, or FluxCD. You are a seasoned developer and can code in Python, TypeScript, or Go. You have experience with data warehousing using BigQuery or Redshift, and you follow security-minded practices to meet SOC2 and PCI requirements, especially when handling PII. You are comfortable with serverless frameworks such as AWS Lambda, and you can contribute by writing design documentation, mentoring junior engineers, and sharing knowledge with the team. Responsibilities Manage and operate cloud infrastructure (GCP and/or AWS) with a focus on reliability, scalability, and security. Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or Pulumi) and CI/CD pipelines. Design, deploy, and monitor applications on Kubernetes, including high-availability and performance optimization. Develop and enforce security and compliance practices across the SDLC (SOC2, PCI, PII handling). Collaborate across teams to architect scalable, secure solutions and participate in on-call rotations. Create playbooks, design documentation, and mentor junior DevOps engineers. Requirements At least 5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or Platform Engineer with hands-on Kubernetes troubleshooting. Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform or Pulumi) and strong scripting skills in Bash and Python for automation. Experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and solid networking knowledge (VPCs, DNS, TLS, load balancing, VPNs). Solid understanding of the SDLC and modern CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab, or FluxCD). Ability to architect solutions from the ground up and manage implementations under tight deadlines. Experience with Python, TypeScript, or Go; knowledge of data warehousing (BigQuery or Redshift) and security/compliance practices (SOC2, PCI). Serverless experience (e.g., AWS Lambda) and ability to write design documentation and contribute to team growth. Full professional proficiency in English. Nice To Haves Experience with AWS infrastructure deployment. Experience working with SQL databases. Experience with data warehouses (Redshift, BigQuery) and caching systems (Redis). Experience with serverless platforms (AWS Lambda, GCP Cloud Run/Functions).
