Base pay range $35,000.00/yr - $60,000.00/yr Overview & Responsibilities Veryfi is a profitable, venture‑backed software company in the heart of Silicon Valley, with a satellite office in Medellín, Colombia, Ciudad del Rio neighborhood.We seek an entry‑level python backend engineer with either a university degree in computer science or who has developed and deployed a full‑stack application to the cloud. The application must currently be live, have a url, and actually work — it could be a blog, could be a twitter clone. That’s fine, it just needs to be live, and work without erroring out.This engineer will work directly with senior machine learning engineers to build applications that measure the accuracy of our machine learning models and create training data to create and improve our machine learning models.ML experience is not required. However, the role will use ML regularly. Requirements Fluent in English. Intermediate Python. You should be able to do a medium LeetCode problem in less than 30 minutes without AI. Formidable. Does what they say they will do. Consistently executes, rarely gets blocked. Ambition. The candidate is serious about growing into a tech‑lead, machine‑learning engineer, or engineering manager in the next two years. Willingness and ability to understand our end users needs. When asked to build something that doesn’t make sense, negotiate for simpler solutions. Able to understand user needs, understand our team’s existing infrastructure and processes, and design multiple solutions to a single problem. Ability to clearly communicate tradeoffs of different design decisions. Ability to work in‑office at our location in Ciudad del Rio, Medellín Colombia three days per week.
