Position Title: Mid Java Developer

Seniority Back/end: Mid

Seniority Front/end: Junior to Mid

Location: Hybrid - Medellin, Colombia

What you will be doing:

We are looking for a Mid Java Software Engineer with extensive experience building performant, scalable, reliable, and testable software solutions as a key part of the CoDE engineering team. You are expected to be a hands-on developer who has designed reliable systems utilizing modern techniques (event streaming, micro-services, etc.), has demonstrable experience applying software design patterns to complex problems, and has worked extensively in an Agile SCRUM model.

  • Extensive experience promoting and working with test-driven development
  • Hands-on participation in design, coding, testing, and deploying systems
  • Has mentored and encouraged other developers
  • Experience with various back-end micro-services frameworks (Spring, Helidon)
  • Designs systems with an APIs first architectural approach
  • Experience working in and promoting a DevOps culture which drives continuous delivery
  • Demonstrable experience in promoting and continuous improvement of Agile SCRUM practice
  • Demonstrable experience improving existing architectures as business needs and tech stacks evolve
  • Experience working effectively with remote and internal development teams

Required Skills & Experience:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related subject
  • Proven hands-on Software Development experience, 10+ years
  • Proven experience in Java and Web development technologies, 4+ years
  • Profound insight of Java internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, Oracle, SQL, and ORM technologies (Hibernate, iBatis)
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript and popular JavaScript libraries
  • Working knowledge of REST frameworks
  • Working experience with WebSphere application server and embeddable web servers
  • Experience with containers, and cloud operating environments (Azure)
  • Experience with cloud native technologies – FaaS, DaaS, Kafka – is a plus
  • Experience with Maven, Git, and GitHub
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira)
  • Experience with Jasper Reports

Nice to haves:

  • Experience in Supply Chain Logistics is a plus
  • Experience working with front-end stacks such as Angular
  • Experience in development of Warehouse Management systems is a plus
  • Experience interfacing with autonomous control system is a plus
  • Working knowledge of C programming in the Unix/Linux environment.
