Position Title: Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Seniority: Senior

Location: Hybrid - Medellin, Colombia

What you will be doing:

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test. You will work closely with the SDET supervisor to coach, mentor, and guide other junior engineers. You will aid in the direction of our automated quality assurance practice. The ideal candidate must have strong problem-solving abilities, an aptitude for quick learning, and the ability to offer solutions based on best practices for test automation endeavors. You should have previous experience as an agent of change for automated quality assurance with a track record of successfully enhancing test development procedures. Also, it will be required of you to aid in developing and delivering these test automation solutions. The candidate will report to our SDET Supervisor & QA Manager in this role.

Some of the things expected from you include:

  1. 4+ years of practical experience as an automation test engineer; building test suites with Java and Selenium WebDriver is preferred; Cucumber BDD is a plus.
  2. Strong knowledge and experience of Page Object Model frameworks.
  3. Strong understanding of test automation design and methodologies utilizing best practices.
  4. Capable of establishing acceptance criteria for manual testing and test automation strategies based on functional requirements.
  5. Strong experience with continuous integration systems – preferably Jenkins.
  6. Strong experience in API testing from SOAP, RESTful is required.
  7. Strong databases and SQL knowledge.
  8. Strong knowledge and experience of version control.
  9. Experience working effectively with remote and internal development teams.
  10. Experience with non-functional (performance, latency, failover, etc.) testing.
  11. Knowledge of Docker or Kubernetes.
  12. Experience with cloud services.
  13. The candidate is expected to be in office collaborating with the team, at the moment it will be two days per week. This is a Hybrid position for the city of Medellin, Colombia.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  1. BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering Discipline or equivalent on the job experience.

Skills:

  1. Experience managing test lifecycle using TestRails or equivalent.
  2. Deep knowledge of Selenium and/or Selenide testing libraries.
  3. Hands-on experience using Selenium & Core Java to develop Automation Suite.
  4. Hands-on experience with various automation frameworks for REST backend and Angular frontend validation.
  5. Experience with Maven vs Gradle.
  6. Experience with version control (GitHub/Bit-Bucket).
  7. Experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, JIRA).
  8. Experience in development of Warehouse Management systems is a plus.
  9. Experience with JMeter/Load Runner.
  10. Experience with JUnit/TestNG.
  11. Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.

Good to haves:

  1. Web, Windows application testing a plus.
  2. Gherkin Knowledge is a plus.
  3. Experience in Supply Chain Logistics is a plus.
