Safaricom Hiring Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to take on a pivotal role in ensuring the quality of our products. Reporting to theLead SDETthis individual will be a technical leader, responsible for driving test strategy, automation, and performance engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, testing, and a proven ability to influence and mentor others. Independently own the entire test lifecycle for complex projects, including test planning, design, execution, and analysis. Develop and implement advanced test automation frameworks and tools. Lead performance testing initiatives, identifying performance bottlenecks and recommending optimizations. Drive the adoption of DevSecOps practices and optimize CI/CD pipelines for zero-touch deployment. Conduct in-depth security testing and analysis to identify vulnerabilities and mitigate risks. Leverage AI and machine learning to enhance test efficiency and effectiveness. Build and maintain comprehensive test analytics to measure and improve product quality. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence product design and development. Mentor and coach junior SDET team members. Contribute to the development and implementation of quality engineering best practices. Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Extensive experience in software testing and quality assurance. Strong programming skills in multiple languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#). Expertise in test automation frameworks and tools. Deep understanding of performance testing concepts and tools. Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Strong knowledge of security testing methodologies and tools. Ability to analyze complex systems and identify potential issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership and influencing skills.
