The successful TPM will initially be required to run a number of existing foundational initiatives to ease and accelerate the decomposition of applications from monolith to microservice architecture following a 'Strangler Pattern' approach. Foundational services included service to service auth, standard application templates, edge user authentication, shared libraries and platforms and new feature flag capabilities. Once these foundations are operational, the TPM will be required to oversee the decomposition of all backend services to microservice architecture through the pre established strangler pattern / decomposition maturity levels.
