Academic Accreditation and Compliance Officer Our Mission We're building a category-defining company to increase the speed of innovation in higher education. Woolf's mission is to increase access to world-class higher education and ensure that it is globally recognized and transferable. We help qualified education organizations launch world-class higher education programs that issue academic credits and globally recognized accredited degrees. Woolf University is a collegiate higher education institution modeled on the University of Oxford and Delhi University. We are the first global collegiate university to allow other education organizations to join as member colleges and issue degrees. Our colleges include some of the fastest growing EdTech companies in the world: UpGrad, Scaler, GoIT, EduBridge, AlmaBetter, and others. Our Team We are a globally distributed, fully remote team with a bias for action. Our team is mission-aligned, high EQ/low ego, and committed to excellence. Our investor group includes First Round Capital, Connect Ventures, IOVC, All Access Fund, and Tribe Capital. The Role We're looking for a detail-oriented and systematic individual to help ensure the most robust quality assurance system ever built. You will work directly with senior members of the Accreditation Team and leading education organizations to manage accreditation compliance paperwork. While prior knowledge of academic accreditation or law in the EU or US is not required, this role requires you to have either a background in law or a PhD. Key Responsibilities Work with the accreditation team to maintain Woolf's quality assurance system, including regular review of learning materials for potential standards issues and verification of educational documents worldwide. Conduct compliance audits of Woolf's colleges, ensuring up-to-date records, free from abnormalities, and compliance with strict accreditation requirements. Manage large and complex projects with multiple workstreams, ensuring completion with minimal support and proactive communication. Collaborate with senior and junior academics to simplify course and degree design, understanding the impact on students and program usability. Interact across cultural barriers with academic leaders, government officials, and others, maintaining politeness, patience, and cheerfulness while staying goal-focused. Requirements Graduate-level education. Either a PhD or experience in law, regulatory compliance, policy-making, large grant applications, or a similar role. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Meticulous, systematic, goal-focused, and capable of working with complex regulatory frameworks. Patient yet persistent in the face of bureaucratic inertia. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong solution-oriented problem-solving skills. Readiness to work in a start‑up environment, taking initiative to break ambiguous projects into concrete, time‑bound steps. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the higher education sector, such as lecturing, maintaining compliance with accreditation standards, curriculum mapping, and development. Previous experience or a demonstrated passion for higher education/edtech. Proven ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and adapt quickly. Passion for Woolf's mission, vision, and core values. Experience working remotely. Background in computer science is a plus but not essential. Benefits Contract-Type: Independent Contractor (Global). Contractors are responsible for their own taxes and benefits in compliance with local regulations. Global impact: Work with education leaders worldwide to shape the future of learning. Remote flexibility: Work from anywhere with a schedule that fits your lifestyle. Growth potential: Join a fast-growing company with opportunities to expand your role.
