Senior Manager, Engineering

Purpose In this role you will lead and oversee Insurance Domain Technology applications and team, in both Colombia and Canada, ensuring business strategies, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. We are seeking a talented and motivated leader to deliver value on the Insurance Domain Technology team, while working closely with the project and business teams to ensure partner and stakeholder alignment and deliver solutions on time. Also responsible for maintenance and support of technology after the implementation date and people management activities. Accountabilities Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Provide overall leadership and technical guidance that enables creative delivery of Insurance applications and coordinate the traveler teams to deliver according to Global insurance roadmap. Responsible for the overall Insurance solution end-to-end ensuring that designs are modern, resilient, and cost-effective. Responsible for ensuring that software is delivered on time, resilient, on budget and in a way that meets the business expectations. Owns, manage and maintain thorough understanding of the Insurance system capabilities, gaps, and opportunities. Provide analytic support in the development and implementation of strategic plans. Assist in the review and evaluation of business initiatives, products and projects and formulate insightful guidance and input to business leaders. Manage a global development team in delivery of annual objectives and support business partners in their various timelines. Own, maintain, support, and enhance existing applications, including regular code reviews for release activities, production issue analysis and root cause analysis for production outages and implementation issues. Assist product owners and business analysts in discovering the current system behavior and provide recommendations on improving the current system. Participate in Architecture Review and manage budget. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Education / Experience / Other Information Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline. 4-6 years of work-related experience within the Financial Services Industry or similar experience managing a budget of CAD4MM+. Experience in consumer banking products and Business process management products. 5+ years’ experience in delivery of large-scale programs and global products. Strong and proven analytical skills. Strong working knowledge of business solutioning, documentation and process mapping. Strong technical solution management experience and skills. Ability to work autonomously under tight timelines. Ability to work in a dynamic environment where processes and procedures are consistently refined. Strong capability to work with senior business leaders. Strong verbal, written and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong people management skills and experience.
