Job Description

Overall Job Function:

We support day-to-day import and export execution, ensure compliance to standards and support global initiatives for trade & customs enhancements.

Core Responsibilities includes but is not limited to:

  1. Coordinate and manage all regional import and export processes for commercial and NCG
  2. Ensure and manage efficient handling of customs formalities in cross-region trades
  3. Timely submit entries for customs clearance and ensure compliance with global rules, standards and regulations set by Global Trade & Customs
  4. Support opportunities to optimize regional customs and tax in line with local regulations and aligned with Global Trade & Customs department and strategies
  5. Communicate with state customs and other regulatory regulators
  6. Support global initiatives/projects with regulatory expertise
  7. Closely collaborate with Tax and Accounting to ensure compliance with country requirements
  8. Act as local first contact to Regional Sales for cross-border questions for existing setups

Qualifications

Additional Accountabilities:

  1. Deep expertise in import and export processes in region across all types of cross-border flows
  2. Strong understanding of global Trade & Customs rules and regulations for regional execution
  3. Solid overview on relevant regional market environment and cross-border trade relationships
  4. “Can do” attitude to effectively resolve day-to-day issues and drive smooth process execution
  5. Holistic view to look at the bigger perspective with a visionary approach
  6. Ability to encourage collaboration, co-creation and people development by empowering others

Role Requirements:

  1. Strong classification skills, with a thorough knowledge of the U.S. HTS, Customs Rulings and Regulations, and Other Government Agency regulations governing Imports
  2. Highly knowledgeable of FTA’s (particularly NAFTA), the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Code, and W.T.O. Explanatory Notes
  3. Strong computer knowledge including Microsoft Office Suite
  4. Ability to work independently and in a high pressure, multi-personality, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  5. Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload
  6. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with peers, internal customers, and vendors
  7. Ability to maintain confidentiality
  8. Must be fluent in English and local language
