The iOS app developer will design and build the next generation of mobile applications and work closely with other app development and technical teams. You will work as part of a team to ensure that the business and technical architecture of the delivered solution matches business requirements. You may take technical lead on design, development, and mentoring, collaborating with architects, developers, business stakeholders, and regulatory/compliance groups. The Senior iOS Developer will design, develop, and implement native mobile applications for iOS, with focus on SDUI (Server-Driven UI) architectures. Solid experience with Swift and Objective-C and SDUI usage to optimize dynamic interfaces from the server is expected. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of iOS development experience, be proactive with strong problem solving and autonomous technical decision making. Familiarity with Agile methodologies, modern UI/UX practices, and design patterns such as MVVM and MVC is required. Ability to lead development teams, mentor junior developers, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams is an asset. Accountabilities Champion a customer‑focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships and knowledge. Design, develop, integrate, test, and implement complex business requirements. Apply technological knowledge to design models/systems, formulate detailed technical designs, investigate and recommend solutions, and deliver applications using Agile methodologies. Provide technical leadership, cross‑lab coordination, production support, and release implementation support. Incorporate the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture into day‑to‑day activities and decisions. Ensure operations align with Scotiabank values, Code of Conduct, and global principles while maintaining day‑to‑day controls for risk and compliance. Foster a high‑performance, inclusive work environment. Education / Experience / Other Information Skill set for the role 3+ years of iOS development with Swift 5+ Deep knowledge of iOS design best practices and Apple Human Interface Guidelines; able to give constructive feedback to designers Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) Experience with accessibility and analytics (e.g., event tracking such as Firebase) Experience integrating third‑party libraries and SDKs with Swift Package Manager Experience building apps that consume RESTful APIs Strong software engineering principles (SOLID) Experience in large‑scale enterprise environments with legacy systems and new tech Experience across all phases of the software development life cycle Understanding of Scrum/Agile methodologies SDUI experience Soft Skills Ability to hit the ground running Strong written and verbal communication skills with Product, Design, and Backend teams Sense of urgency, proactivity, and problem solving Effective in removing impediments and driving innovation High accountability and advanced English Working Conditions Work in a standard office‑based environment; non‑standard hours are common.
