We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Bookkeeper with a strong background in trust accounting to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, with a proven track record of managing financial records accurately and efficiently. Experience in the vacation rental industry is highly desirable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trust Accounting: Maintain and manage trust accounts in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Journal Entries: Accurately journal all expenses, revenues, and other financial transactions.
  • Vendor Payments: Ensure timely and accurate payment to vendors, reconciling any discrepancies.
  • Client Accounts: Record payments and post against client accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Owner Statements: Generate and distribute accurate and comprehensive statements for property owners.
  • Financial Reports: Produce highly accurate profit and loss statements (P&L), balance sheets, and other financial reports as needed.
  • Expense Tracking: Monitor and track all company expenses, ensuring proper documentation and categorization.
  • Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of four years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
  • Strong understanding of trust accounting principles and practicespreferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Excel.
  • Experience in the vacation rental or property management industry is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
