Diageo's Shared Service Center plays a crucial role in supporting Diageo’s Latin American markets by delivering high-quality financial, operational, and analytical services. By implementing efficient processes and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, our function ensures that markets benefit from streamlined operations and enhanced business insights. As a center of excellence, it acts as a true business partner, collaborating closely with markets to achieve strategic objectives.

The Financial Control function plays a critical and highly influential role within the organization, ensuring the completeness and integrity of our financial information, which directly impacts strategic decision-making and overall business success. As the guardians of financial accuracy, this team is responsible for preparing detailed financial statements for both management and local reporting, ensuring compliance with the highest standards and regulations. By handling internal and external audits, the Financial Control team supports clarity and accountability across the organization.

This role in the Financial Controlling team is vital for ensuring accurate financial records and transparency. This role supports the month-end closing, handles statutory adjustments, and prepares essential financial reports, providing critical insights for business decisions. It’s a great opportunity for a qualified accountant early in their career, especially those eager to gain international experience and work with IFRS standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the month-end closing process, ensuring all financial records are complete and accurate in alignment with internal and external timelines.
  2. Provide assistance during internal and external audits by preparing vital documentation and responding to auditor inquiries to ensure compliance and clarity.
  3. Prepare and submit local statutory and management financial reports, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and in compliance with relevant regulations.
  4. Assist in the preparation and review of statutory adjustments and transfer pricing reports, maintaining adherence to regulatory standards.
  5. Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  6. Track and report key performance indicators for financial control, supporting the team in identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  7. Maintain and update financial data, ensuring it aligns with internal policies, local regulations, and IFRS standards.

  2. Controls Deficiency / Audit Failures
  3. Quality and Timeliness of Financial Statement Reporting

Key Relationships:

  1. FP&A Team.
  2. In-market finance.
  3. Finance Center of Excellence.
  4. Other Global Business Operations teams (Commercial Experience – Supplier Experience).
  5. Internal/external audit teams.
  6. Tax authorities.
  7. Group functions (tax, treasury, etc).

The Power Skills You Bring:

  1. Strong Financial Controlling knowledge (Balance sheet, Group and Local Financial Reporting and accounting principles).
  2. Knowledge of VAT and ISLR withholdings.
  3. Knowledge in managing exchange systems.
  4. Management of adjustment calculation for financial inflation.
  5. Calculation and execution of exchange revaluations.
  6. Experience leading external audit processes and relationship with commercial commissioner.
  7. Able to focus on detail and to the accuracy of reporting.
  8. Creative thinking.
  9. Analytical thinking.
  10. Understanding and knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems.
  11. Data literacy.
  12. Can work under pressure with minimum supervision.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Degree educated and part qualified - studying for a professional financial qualification. Accounting highly desirable.
  2. Experience: 3 or more years of proven experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment.
  3. Language: English Professional working proficiency.
  4. Language: Portuguese highly desirable.
