We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Data & AI team in Medellín. This is a high-impact Individual Contributor (IC) role that will be critical in architecting and scaling the data ecosystem that powers DealMaker's growth, reporting directly to the VP of Data and AI. You will be a technical leader for a team focused on three core initiatives: Achieve Core Data Reliability, Drive Enhanced Marketing Technology, and Automate and Optimize Sales Forecasting. What You Will Do As a Senior Data Engineer, you will own the design, development, and scaling of our modern data platform. Your work will directly enable marketing attribution, sales forecasting models, and core business intelligence across the company. Key Responsibilities & Impact: Architect and scale the modern data stack: lead the design and implementation of scalable, cost-efficient data infrastructure (data warehouse, ETL/ELT, streaming) to support DealMaker's exponential growth. Drive data reliability: establish and enforce a company-wide Data Quality and Observability Framework (using tools like dbt and Open Metadata) to guarantee data integrity, supporting the Achieve Core Data Reliability initiative. Optimize core business processes: build robust data pipelines that ingest and transform data for predictive models, enabling the Automate and Optimize Sales Forecasting initiative. Enhance marketing technology: architect the data flow for our customer data platform (CDP), providing a unified customer view for targeted campaigns and attribution models, driving Enhanced Marketing Technology. Elevate team standards: define data engineering best practices, coding standards, and deployment methodologies (CI/CD); mentor other engineers and analysts to raise the team's technical capability. Cross-functional technical leadership and scalable, resiliency-driven data architecture: serve as the technical point person for architecture decisions across Data, Product, and Engineering teams. What Skills You Need The ideal candidate must have: Expertise in designing and implementing scalable data infrastructure (data warehouses, data lakes, streaming systems). Deep knowledge of modern data stack technologies (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS/Azure services) balancing cost, performance, and maintainability. Proven ability to design, build, and maintain high-performance ETL/ELT workflows using Python, SQL, and orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect). Experience with optimization techniques (performance tuning, query optimization) for large datasets. Ability to define and advocate for data engineering best practices, coding standards, and CI/CD methodologies. Experience mentoring other data team members and leading technical design reviews. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with Data Scientists, Data Analysts, and Product Managers to translate business requirements into high-quality data solutions.
