Network Infrastructure Engineer

Join our Network Infrastructure Team The Edge Platform team oversees planning, building, maintaining, and operating the global platform. They design, develop, and deploy essential technologies. This includes hardware, software, and network infrastructure supporting Akamai's products. The team ensures reliable availability and optimal performance for customers. Partner with the best As a Network Infrastructure Engineer in a maintenance role, you will remotely diagnose hardware problems. Facilitate router repairs, manage Akamai's hardware assets, and interact with datacenter and ISPs staff. Work with a worldwide team of field technicians and work closely with external partners and internal teams As a Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for: Managing projects for server deployments and network installations through collaboration with cross‑functional technical teams Managing remote hardware assets and troubleshooting issues remotely Diagnosing switch and router problems to ensure stability of Akamai platform Working closely with field technicians, ISPs and Akamai partners for installation and maintenance of Akamai Network Infrastructure Training, and mentoring of new engineers and technicians to share knowledge and up‑skill your team Do what you love To be successful in this role you will: Have 2‑4 years of experience and a High School / Bachelor's degree or its equivalent Have experience in network technologies and basic knowledge of routing protocols Have Experience with JunOS, CiscoIOS Be passionate about building productive relationships with customers, teams, providers, and partners Be able to interpret Ethernet port errors, optical power levels and Tx/Rx thresholds, and other port diagnostic metrics Have experience with Datacenter portals Work in a way that works for you FlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world.
