Learn more: In this role In this role, you will build and scale backend systems for a Fortune 500 enterprise, working across Java and Python to develop robust, secure, and high-performing API platforms. You will collaborate with senior US-based technical partners while taking full ownership of development tasks, driving them from planning to delivery. This position requires a strong modern coding mindset focused on simplicity, reliability, and security within a distributed Azure cloud environment. What To Expect In This Role (Responsibilities) Develop, deploy, and maintain a scalable API platform using Java and Python (with a focus on FastAPI). Design and implement secure API management practices including rate limits, tokens, and robust security protocols. Create and maintain clear and comprehensive API documentation using Swagger. Manage API orchestration and complex integrations across multiple systems. Implement observability and performance monitoring, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact users. Requirements 4+ years of proficient experience in backend development using advanced Java and Python libraries. 3+ years of solid understanding of RESTful principles, including practical experience with FastAPI. 3+ years of experience developing and deploying applications in Azure. 3+ years of experience working with relational and non-relational databases. 2+ years of experience working within CI/CD pipelines. Advanced/Fluent English (written and verbal) for daily remote collaboration. Strong communication, accountability, and problem‑solving skills. Nice to Have Deep knowledge of OAuth, JWT, and modern security standards for external-facing APIs. Advanced experience documenting complex APIs with Swagger or OpenAPI.
