Senior Java Software Engineer

Job Overview Publicis Sapient is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer with exposure to Python , to support and enhance a suite of front office and order-generating applications . This role is best suited for someone with a solid grasp of the full software development life cycle , excellent problem‑solving skills, and hands‑on experience working in cloud‑native , high‑performance systems. Daily Responsibilities and Impact Develop scalable, reliable, and high‑performance applications using Core Java , Spring Boot , JPA , and Hibernate . Implement multithreaded logic and handle concurrency in Java applications. Contribute to backend services and automation tasks, leveraging Python where appropriate. Support the architecture and maintenance of microservices and event‑driven systems . Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and performance tuning efforts. Deploy and maintain applications using AWS services , ensuring availability, scalability, and observability. Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines , containerization, and modern deployment practices. Engage with product owners, QA, DevOps, and business teams to ensure alignment on requirements and delivery expectations. Apply your knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) to manage application changes from design through production. Participate in Agile ceremonies and support iterative delivery. What You Bring to the Table 4+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on Java (Java 17 or higher) . Experience with Spring Boot , JPA , Hibernate , and multithreading . Exposure to Python for backend development or scripting tasks. Hands‑on experience with AWS for cloud‑native application development. Familiarity with microservices , event‑driven architecture , and API integration. Sound understanding of SDLC processes and best practices. Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize large‑scale applications. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Set Yourself Apart With Experience in financial services or building front office/order‑generating systems . AWS certification or experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform). Experience working in Agile environments and contributing to DevOps processes.
