The MEL activity provides technical and advisory services to USAID in the following components: (1) Monitoring; (2) Performance and Impact Assessments; (3) Research, Assessments, and Data Analysis; (4) Geographic Information Services (GIS) and (5) Collaboration, Learning, and Adaptation tasks (CLA).
USAID/Colombia requested that the MEL activity measure, monitor, and generate information on the potential effect of different conservation approaches that Amazon Alive Activity is developing in the Colombian Amazon region. The information collected will enable the creation of decision-making tools for the conservation management of biodiversity. The measurement for this study will be carried out in three geographic areas to be defined by USAID/Colombia. This requires designing a methodology that includes different measurement scales and various intervals for the collection of information.
Based on the above, MEL Activity requires contracting a fieldwork coordinator to support the team in the planning, management and follow-up of the activities carried out in the field. This includes activities related to the dissemination of the measurement to the communities, as well as data collection activities.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Prepare the work plan for data collection.
- Define the travel logistics to conduct fieldwork in the defined geographic points.
- Coordinate lodging and food for the consultant team with the communities.
- Support the logístical coordination of fieldwork in the territory.
- Prepare the agenda of activities for each day of the fieldwork.
- Support the elaboration of the fieldwork report and the learning sessions on the methodological design.

USAID/Colombia ha solicitado a la Actividad MEL medir, monitorear y generar información sobre el efecto potencial de las diferentes acciones que la Actividad Amazonía Mía viene desarrollando en la región amazónica de Colombia. La información recolectada permitirá crear herramientas para la toma de decisiones en el manejo de la conservación en biodiversidad. La medición se realizaría en tres puntos geográficos definidos por USAID/Colombia, lo cual exige diseñar una metodología que comprenda diferentes escalas de medición y diferentes tiempos para la recolección de la información.
Con base en lo anterior, la Actividad MEL requiere la contratación de un coordinador de trabajo de campo apoyará al equipo en la planificación, organización, seguimiento de las actividades que se realicen en territorio. Esto incluye tanto las actividades relacionadas con la socialización de la medición con las comunidades como las actividades de recolección de información.

- Preparar el plan de trabajo para la recolección de datos
- Definir los trayectos para realizar el trabajo de campo en los puntos geográficos definidos.
- Coordinar con las comunidades el hospedaje y la alimentación del equipo consultor
- Apoyar la coordinación logística del trabajo de campo en territorio
- Elaborar la agenda de actividades para cada uno de los días del trabajo de campo
- Apoyar la elaboración de la relatoría del trabajo de campo y las sesiones de aprendizaje sobre el diseño metodológico
