Sr Accountant (Hospitality Experience) – Howard Financial We are seeking a highly skilled and specialized Senior Accountant to manage the complete accounting cycle for a portfolio of clients within the fast-paced Hospitality industry (hotels, resorts, and restaurants). The ideal candidate will be an expert in hospitality financial operations, specializing in daily revenue audit, F&B costing, and ensuring compliance across multiple property entities. This is a critical, 100% remote role requiring deep proficiency in industry‑specific reporting and system integrations. What You’ll Do Hospitality Accounting & Reporting Own the month‑end close process for multiple hospitality entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting compliant with U.S. GAAP. Manage and reconcile daily revenue streams , including cash, credit card settlements, and complex guest/city ledger accounts. Oversee and perform Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) analysis and inventory valuation specific to Food & Beverage (F&B) operations. Prepare comprehensive financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow) and specialized operational reports for General Managers and client stakeholders. Ensure accurate recording and compliance for Occupancy Tax, Sales Tax, and Use Tax obligations. General Accounting & Compliance Perform complex account reconciliations, journal entries, and meticulous review of the General Ledger (GL). Support year‑end procedures, audit requests, and internal control documentation. Manage Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and banking activities. What You Bring (Requirements) 4+ years of progressive accounting experience , with a minimum of 2 years focused specifically on the Hospitality industry (hotel, resort, or multi‑unit restaurant group). Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP principles and accrual‑based accounting. Mandatory System Proficiency : Demonstrable experience with QuickBooks Online/Desktop and familiarity with standard Hospitality Property Management Systems (PMS) like M3, Oracle Opera, or similar. Experience managing multi‑entity financials and adhering to multi‑state regulatory compliance is strongly preferred. Exceptional analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to manage tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
