La position
The Sequencing Solutions Specialist is a critical, hybrid role responsible for driving both the commercial growth and technical success of Roche’s Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) portfolio. Together with the account manager, you will be responsible for the entire customer lifecycle: acquiring new customers, providing expert pre-sales technical validations, and leading post-sales onboarding and troubleshooting. By bridging the gap between business objectives and laboratory operations, you will position Roche as the ultimate partner of choice in clinical and research genomics.
Your Opportunity
The responsibilities for this role include:
- Commercial Growth & Business Development
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive account business plans in partnership with Key Account Managers to maximize market share.
Lead Conversion: Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities across clinical labs, research facilities, reference labs, and government institutions.
- Pre-Sales Technical Positioning
Technical Pitching: Lead highly technical product presentations, demos, and workflow discussions for Lab Directors and Principal Investigators (PIs), translating complex NGS chemistry into tangible clinical and business benefits.
Solution Design: deeply understand customers’ scientific and operational needs to recommend optimal end-to-end solutions, including library prep, automation systems, and bioinformatics.
RFP & Tender Support: Provide necessary technical specifications, workload estimates, and strategic insights required for complex tenders and large-scale commercial proposals.
Validation Leadership: Design and execute validation protocols to prove Roche’s chemistry performance on existing NGS platforms, strategically driving competitive workflow conversions.
- Post-Sales Implementation & Customer Success
Onsite Onboarding: Manage the end-to-end technical implementation of NGS workflows (Library Prep, Enrichment, and Quality Control) at customer sites, ensuring minimal downtime and a rapid go-live.
User Training: Conduct comprehensive, high-level technical training for laboratory staff to ensure they are self-sufficient and confident using Roche Sequencing Solutions.
Advanced Troubleshooting: Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex workflow failures. Combine deep molecular biology knowledge with instrumentation insights to resolve issues rapidly.
Workflow Optimization: Proactively conduct field visits to monitor solution performance, optimize protocols, prevent churn, and identify upsell opportunities. Collaborate with automation partners to optimize Roche NGS kits across various high-throughput platforms.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Administrative Excellence
Pipeline Management: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date CRM (Salesforce/Veeva) tracking the sales pipeline, key opportunities, field activities, technical cases, and competitive insights.
Internal Alignment: Partner seamlessly with Marketing and Business Development to execute targeted campaigns, workshops, and product launches.
Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate effectively with Technical Support, Field Service, and Distributors (where applicable) to ensure high customer satisfaction and unified service delivery.
Continuous Self-Development: Stay at the forefront of the rapidly evolving genomics market by continuously engaging with the latest NGS publications, clinical guidelines, and Roche global training modules to maintain "expert status."
