Purpose The role leads the design, development, and implementation of cloud-based solutions that support the organization’s fraud detection and prevention initiatives. It ensures migration of existing systems to cloud platforms, optimizes infrastructure for performance and cost, and maintains high standards of security and compliance. Accountabilities Cloud Architecture and Development – Design, develop, and implement cloud-based solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for real‑time fraud detection and prevention. Incident Management – Respond to and resolve cloud‑related incidents, ensuring minimal downtime. Security and Compliance – Ensure compliance with industry standards and PCI regulations for data tokenization and encryption. Performance Optimization – Optimize cloud infrastructure for scalability and cost efficiency, including dataflow job management. Data Management – Oversee ingestion, storage, and processing of large datasets, ensuring integrity and security. Migration and Integration – Lead migration of existing systems to cloud platforms, ensuring seamless integration. Collaboration and Communication – Work closely with cross‑functional teams (fraud analytics, IT, cybersecurity) and other delivery teams to research and design solutions for business requirements. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, business, information sciences or a related field. 7+ years as a Java developer with experience in requirements analysis, cloud back‑end and front‑end design, development and deployment. Google Cloud Platform developer experience is essential. Familiarity with fraud detection and prevention systems. Programming Languages and Tools – Experience with microservice architecture (REST, Spring Boot, Docker), SPA using React.js, JavaScript, HTML, CSS; proficiency with DevOps and orchestration (Bitbucket, Git, Kubernetes/GKE, Jenkins, Maven). Working Conditions Standard office‑based environment. Non‑standard hours are common. Location Bogotá, Colombia. Additional Information ScotiaTech is part of Scotiabank Group.
