Job Summary:
The National Gallery of Art is an art museum in Washington, D.C. The Gallery serves the nation by welcoming all people to explore and experience art, creativity, and our shared humanity. The Gallery develops the understanding of art through collecting and exhibiting in ways that reflect our nation and its histories; preserving its collections for future generations; and delivering compelling public programs and events, engaging digital experiences, and groundbreaking scholarship. The National Gallery uses Information Technology (IT) in the execution of its mission. The information technology services are managed by Treasurer’s office of Digital Solutions (TDS). These services are delivered through various departments within TDS. The purpose of this work is to acquire highly technical contractor personnel to augment the National Gallery’s information technology staff supporting Tier 3 and Tier 4 operations for the back-Office technology infrastructure/services.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  1. Test new versions of operating system and endpoint software for compatibility, performance optimization and deployment.
  2. Manage all aspects of the end-to-end release process.
  3. Develop and validate software release process/technical procedures.
  4. Develop master images and deployment procedures.
  5. Develop and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) checklists for software release processes.
  6. Work with stakeholders for software deployment/updates.
  7. Deals with communication, preparation, and training for new releases.
  8. Update Knowledge Management System (KMS).
  9. Provides management reports on release progress.
  10. Track software licensing.
  11. Ensure security compliance to the supported applications and operating systems.
  12. Perform daily system performance and security monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, endpoint systems and key processes, review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs.
  13. Researching and testing new operating systems, office productivity enterprise software, and endpoint management technologies and tools to support tech refresh and lifecycle management of the supported technologies.
  14. Provide support to end users and helpdesk Tier 1 and Tier 2 staff for solving complex problems.
  15. Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  16. Participate in the design, implementation and management of workload automation initiatives.
  17. Adhere to firm Change Management, Problem Management policies and familiarity with ITIL or other formalized IT operations.

Qualifications:

  1. Hands-on senior level experience with Knowledge in Microsoft, Mac OS.
  2. Hands-on senior level experience with technologies involved in software and operating system deployment in a large enterprise.
  3. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP and endpoint performance management tools.
  4. Strong knowledge of endpoint security compliance and remediations.
  5. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to identify, research, and resolve simple to moderately complex technical support issues independently.
  6. Must be familiar with the latest hardware platforms for endpoint computing.
  7. Excellent customer service skills.
  8. Self-motivated and takes initiative.
  9. Proficient project planning and writing skills.
  10. MAC Genius experience.
  11. Experience engineering support of Active Directory, DNS, and any additional Microsoft, JAMF and Ivanti.
  12. Experience with Active Directory including AD forest migration, remediation, and consolidation, as well as a strong foundation in other directory service technologies including GPO, DNS and DHCP.
  13. Hands on experience designing and configuring Microsoft Windows and MAC End User technology including Antivirus, patch management and other System Administration tools.
  14. Experience developing detailed Windows and MAC Administrative standards, design, and implementation documentation.
  15. Experience capacity planning, performance monitoring and maintenance.
  16. Strong hands-on experience with endpoint security tools such as Microsoft Defender, McAfee and encryption technologies.

Education/Certifications:

  1. Requires hands-on 5+ years of hands working knowledge in the areas mentioned in qualifications, in an environment with 1000+ Microsoft Windows and MacOS device.
  2. (MCP) Microsoft Certified Professional or (MCSE) Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert.
