About the Role Cube is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Engineering Team. We are motivated by supporting people in typically unsung roles like Finance. Our goal is to create an extremely simple and straightforward product in the FP&A industry, which deals with complex data and modeling. As a valued member of our team, you’ll partner closely with Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams and report to one of our Engineering Managers. What you’ll be doing Consistently writing production‑ready code that is easily testable, easily understood by other engineers, and accounts for edge cases and errors. Owning the observability and monitoring for your team’s domain and using data to suggest improvements. Providing honest, accurate critique and ensuring feedback is used for growth through respectful conversation and collaboration. Nurturing an environment of continuous growth within your team by providing motivation, mentorship, and learning opportunities. Taking ownership of the practices and processes within your team and constantly focusing on their improvement. Fostering a culture of goal setting within your team and ensuring everyone is continuously working toward their goals. Building a psychologically safe environment where everyone on your team feels comfortable giving and receiving open and honest feedback. You could be a great fit if Minimum 4+ years of professional experience in backend development. Extensive experience with one or more of the following technologies: Python, Django, MySQL, AWS. Exceptional communication skills and can communicate effectively to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Experience creating and maintaining high‑performing software in a remote‑first environment. Proven track record of delivering well‑designed, well‑tested, and performant software solutions within an agile environment.
