Our Bogotá tech hub partners closely with teams across North America, Europe, and Asia to advance our Freight Operating System. We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our core services and data pipelines. You will take ownership of high-performance, scalable back-end systems that support our freight management workflows. Strong DevOps skills—such as building CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure, and implementing observability—are highly desirable to ensure smooth deployment and operation of your services. Location : Bogotá, Colombia – Hybrid Language Requirement : English (B2+) – Mandatory What You’ll Do Backend Development (Primary): Build Python-based microservices and REST/gRPC APIs using FastAPI, Django, or similar frameworks Design relational and NoSQL schemas with PostgreSQL and Redis Implement Kafka-based event-driven pipelines with dead-letter queue handling and schema enforcement (Pydantic) Optimize for low latency and high throughput, tuning code, queries, and message brokers Ensure quality with unit, integration, and load testing, plus code reviews Nice to Have CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or Jenkins Kubernetes (AKS) and Azure cloud knowledge Familiarity with observability stacks and SecOps best practices Certifications (CKAD, Azure DevOps, Cloud Security) Background in logistics, transportation, or supply chain Skills & Responsibilities Design RESTful and gRPC APIs, authentication, and versioning DevOps & Infrastructure: Develop CI/CD pipelines, manage cloud resources, deploy observability stacks, automate deployments, backups, and maintenance Collaboration & Documentation: Partner with Product and Security teams on API contracts, data models, and deployment strategies; maintain clear, versioned documentation What You’ll Bring 5+ years building backend systems in Python (FastAPI, Django) with PostgreSQL and Kafka Experience with event-driven architectures and data pipelines Strong async programming and data validation (Pydantic) English proficiency (B2+), spoken and written Problem-solving mindset and ability to work autonomously in hybrid, multicultural teams Why Join Us?
