This Volunteer Placement is Located in: Tulua, Valle del Cauca, Colombia Language Requirements: Spanish Level 3 - Intermediate; English - Fluent Start Date: January 2026 Placement Length: 5 months Open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada only The Volunteer’s Role Embrace the opportunity to leverage your communication and marketing abilities to promote social change while immersing yourself in the vibrant culture of Tulua This placement supports Fundación Victoria Elena, our partner organization. In this role, you will manage promotional and advertising activities to enhance awareness of our Foundation's efforts through digital channels and tools, thereby adding value and bolstering our image. You will be involved in every phase of creating and executing the communication strategy, from planning and implementation to monitoring, optimization, and analysis. As a volunteer, you will: Assess the organization's marketing and communication processes, including online presence and visibility strategies, to identify improvement areas and evaluate consumer reach. Regularly evaluate the Foundation's market positioning. Clearly define the objectives and rationale for each project. Identify and recruit potential donors and volunteers through various strategies. Develop marketing strategies that effectively promote FVE's values to the target audience, including creating and sharing relevant content. Measure the effectiveness of actions in achieving objectives and utilize appropriate evaluation tools. Essential Requirements: University degree in Social Communication, Marketing, Business Administration, Strategic Communications, Digital Communication, or other relevant fields. A minimum of 2-3 years of related experience, coupled with knowledge in administrative, business, and analytical areas. Essential Background: Acquisition of digital donors through lead generation campaigns or direct contributions. Professional experience in the formulation, design, execution, and evaluation of projects and integrated communication strategies. Knowledge of internet marketing, website management, SEO and SEM optimization, social media, analytics, crisis management, and more. What’s in it for YOU? SHARE aims to improve the economic and/or social well-being of the poorest, most marginalized and vulnerable people, particularly women and girls, in developing countries, to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition to increasing the engagement of Canadians in international development and key global issues, this project will aim to increase the performance of country partners to deliver more inclusive, innovative and environmentally sustainable development initiatives that advance gender equality, in support of the action areas of Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy. This support package will cover basic living expenses for one volunteer and is not intended to cover home-based expenses (eg. loans, support payments, etc.) or luxury items such as imported items in placement or international personal travel. Pre-placement Training and Briefing - Skills and Knowledge for Working in Development (SKWID) We commit to helping you prepare as best as possible for your placement. You will have a Volunteering Mobilization Advisor (VMA) to support you through the process and will participate in pre-placement training as part of your preparation. You will also have access to self-directed briefing documents, online training, and external resources through the volunteer portal. This training is designed to maximize your understanding of your placement and culture, help you identify and plan your learning, and help you stay safe and healthy during your placement.
