Electrical Estimator

Location: Medellín, Colombia (Onsite – SouthDesk Office) Employment Type: Full-time Compensation: Competitive salary and benefits package SouthDesk is hiring a driven and enthusiastic Construction Estimator with experience in electrical take-offs to represent one of our clients in the U.S. construction industry. This role is perfect for someone with an architectural, civil engineering or electrical contracting experience. About The Role We are currently seeking an Experienced Electrical Estimator with a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial electrical estimation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for a variety of commercial projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure estimates are competitive and complete. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate electrical estimates for commercial construction projects Analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Review bid documents and project requirements to determine scope and complexity. Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors. Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering alternatives. Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to develop bid proposals. Maintain estimating and bid schedules, ensuring timely submission of bids. Participate in pre-bid meetings and client discussions as needed. Utilize estimating software and Excel spreadsheets for cost breakdowns and reporting. Requirements Experience using McCormik estimating software is preferred Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial electrical estimating. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Strong understanding of electrical systems, drawings, and construction documents. Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
