Senior Scientist in Analytical Development and Drug Substance – Early Research CMC Does it excite you to work with analytical development and characterization of peptides? Your new position As a Senior Scientist in the department of Analytical Development and Drug Substance you will work with developing methods for peptide analysis (UPLC/HPLC, SEC, LC-MS, SEC‑MS) in the clinical candidate screening phase. In addition, you will work with impurity identification, stability trending and selection of peptide candidates for clinical development. There will also be opportunities to make your impact on how Zealand is optimizing the screening and selection of clinical candidates and to conduct hands‑on work in the Pharmaceutical Development laboratory. We Offer Exciting Responsibilities Overall responsible for analytical development in Research projects (HPLC, SEC, LC‑MS, SEC‑MS). Support Research projects with method development and stability data on potential peptide candidates for clinical development. Identification and characterization of degradation products for optimization of peptide candidates. Write scientific reports and documentation supporting nomination of clinical candidates. Improve and optimize the screening selection of peptide candidates for clinical development. Your profile We are looking for someone who demonstrates our values in action, is curious to build new skills and learn new methods, is passionate about science and data, and is pragmatic, structured, and focused on optimizing and improving processes and workflows. You take initiative and are accountable, and you work effectively both independently and collaboratively. A M.Sc/PhD within chemistry, biochemistry or pharmaceutical sciences Extensive experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry within analytical science. Candidates with experience in CMC screening of peptides and mass spectrometry (LC‑MS and SEC‑MS) is preferred Previous experience with developing methods for peptide characterization (HPLC/UPLC/SEC) Experience with optimization of CMC parameters in screening cascades for clinical candidate selection The candidate profile should be motivated to conduct lab activities to support projects and optimize workflows Your new team You will be working in the team of Analytical Development and Drug Substance, which is a part of Pharmaceutical Development, that covers all CMC activities for Research and early clinical development.
