About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, you'll focus on contributing to our backend services powering our suite of products. You'll write and maintain APIs, build system communication, handle data modeling, deal with events, and ensure we scale as we grow to support hundreds of thousands of professionals.

You'll be a technical lead for larger projects, owning architectural design, breaking down projects, guiding, and mentoring engineers. With significant growth supporting tens of thousands of customers and billions of transaction volumes, we want to enable them to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own projects end-to-end, managing complexity and working with stakeholders to think through areas such as business impact, reliability, operability, and security.
  • Collaborate with product managers, product designers, or other cross-functional stakeholders on roadmap initiatives, product ideation, and prioritization.
  • Produce high-quality code that's easily testable, readable, and accounts for edge cases and errors.
  • Architect tools, services, and systems using well-accepted design patterns for iterative autonomous development and future scaling.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • Experience leading and owning end-to-end product development and impactful technology initiatives for organizations.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
  • Ruby (Rails, Sidekiq), Kotlin (micronaut, jooq), GRPC, Protobuf, and Postgres for backend.
  • Typescript / Javascript (React, Redux) for web.
  • React-native for mobile.
