Palladium is seeking a Socioeconomical Transition Specialist to support the implementation of a strategy for a Just Energy Transition of the value chain of existing coal-fired thermoelectric plants in Colombia. This role will be based in Bogota, Colombia, and will be part of a 12-month fixed-term assignment.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in political science, international relations, economics, or engineering, and a postgraduate/Master's degree in a related field. They will also have experience working with an international network of cooperators, trade unions, business associations, and multinational companies linked to industrial relations, green jobs, energy transition, and labour and/or productive reconversion.
In this role, you will conduct an analysis of the social and labour impact of the thermal coal value chain resulting from the reconversion processes of thermoelectric power plants in Colombia. You will also map stakeholders and potential alliances, define mechanisms to be implemented at the national and international level, and develop a dialogue strategy led by the national government to promote a collaboration network that allows for knowledge exchange, best practices, and legitimacy of public policies associated with the labour and productive transition of the thermal coal value chain.
Main Responsibilities- Conduct an analysis of the social and labour impact of the thermal coal value chain resulting from the reconversion processes of thermoelectric power plants in Colombia.
- Map stakeholders and potential alliances, define mechanisms to be implemented at the national and international level.
- Develop a dialogue strategy led by the national government to promote a collaboration network.
We are looking for a proactive self-starter who can work flexibly whilst under pressure, with excellent interpersonal and communications skills. The ideal candidate will have:
- An undergraduate degree in political science, international relations, economics, or engineering, and a postgraduate/Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience working with an international network of cooperators, trade unions, business associations, and multinational companies linked to industrial relations, green jobs, energy transition, and labour and/or productive reconversion.
- Knowledge of regulations, strategies, and public policies at a national and international level focused on climate and energy transition actions linked to the labour, union, and productive sectors.
- Project management skills, including planning, delivering, monitoring, and evaluation of international financing strategies in labour and productive transition dynamics initiatives.
Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
