COBOL Developer

We are seeking an exceptional COBOL Developer to join our team at Kualty. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining COBOL applications with CICS Transaction Server (CICS TS) on IBM mainframes.

• Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications with CICS TS on IBM mainframes.
• Integration and Support: Implement and support CICS applications on distributed platforms (IBM TXSeries).
• Cloud Integration: Utilize SOAP, Java, Web Services, APIs, Atom, and JSON to integrate COBOL applications into modern cloud environments and data centers.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and develop high-performance transactional systems.
• System Operation: Ensure seamless operation of OLTP systems, ensuring 24/7 availability and high transaction throughput.
• Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize COBOL applications for performance and reliability.
• Code Review: Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

• COBOL Programming: Experience with COBOL programming language and CICS Transaction Server (CICS TS), on IBM mainframes.
• Distributed Platforms: Proficiency with distributed platforms using IBM TXSeries (AIX, Linux, Windows, Solaris, or HP-UX).
• Cloud and Data Centers: Experience integrating COBOL applications with modern technologies such as SOAP, Java, Web Services, APIs, Atom, and/or JSON.
• OLTP Systems: Solid understanding of online transaction processing (OLTP) systems in high-demand industries (e.g., banking, insurance, telecommunications).
• Relational Databases: Experience with relational databases, DB2 preferred.
• VSAM Files: Manage and optimization VSAM files.
• Operating Systems: Knowledge at least in one of these technologies: AIX, Linux x86, Windows, Solaris, HP-UX, IBM iSeries, or OS/2 environments.
• DevOps Tools: DevOps tools & CI/CD integration.
• Microservices Architecture: Microservices architecture knowledge and Agile Methodology experience.
