Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Lean Solutions Group. As a key member of our internal team, you will work closely with us to develop and maintain source code stored in GitHub, as well as support our greater engineering team in building pipelines for various purposes.
You will have a strong technical background, with a passion for system support and a keen eye for detail. You will be responsible for developing tools and capabilities to optimize data ingestion, feature engineering, and code management, while also contributing to code development and ensuring quality and performance of our code packages.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain reusable code packages and libraries for team members to access via GitHub repositories.
- Contribute to code development, ensuring quality and performance of these packages.
- Drive ongoing process improvements to reduce production times, increase accuracy, and improve transparency in ETL pipeline creation and maintenance.
- Perform thorough pre-production code audits to ensure code quality and compliance with best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or another quantitative field.
- 1-3 years of experience in supporting software and/or data products primarily using Python, with strong skills in algorithms, data types, exception handling, parameterized testing, and class instances.
- Experience in data mining, ETL processes, and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
- Proficiency in Python.
