The Assistant Retail Store Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining a strong work ethic to manage a high-volume retail variety store. This individual will encourage and promote a mutual associate/customer/donor relationship, enhancing the profitability of Goodwill Industries. The successful candidate will establish positive relationships with clients and associates to successfully implement Goodwill's mission services.
Key Responsibilities:
- To assist the store managers in developing and operating the assigned store to maximize retail market share and donations.
- To work under the supervision of the Retail Store Manager to learn all functions of operating a retail store.
- To relieve manager on holidays, sick leave, etc., and act as manager in the manager's absence after completing a thirty-day training period.
- To supervise associates and clients in the day-to-day operations of a retail variety store in the manager's absence.
- To accurately operate the cash register, validating methods of payment, and balancing cash drawers.
- To maintain monthly inventories, make daily bank deposits, weekly schedules, and reconcile daily sales receipts.
- To maintain merchandising displays, coordinate sales promotion activities, and help ensure production exceeds expectations.
