Role Overview:

The Cybersecurity Operations Specialist plays a vital role within the Security Operations Center (SOC), assisting the Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) by providing First Response Services (FRS) and engaging in the investigation of cybersecurity threats affecting the travel sector. This position demands a high degree of alertness, swift decision-making, and the capability to perform under pressure to safeguard the organization against cyber risks. The Cybersecurity Operations Specialist will collaborate closely with Associate Analysts, offering expert advice to effectively mitigate and resolve threats. This role presents an excellent opportunity in security operations within a dynamic company, with prospects for career advancement for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze and monitor security events and alerts from diverse sources, including network and endpoint sensors, SIEM systems, and other commercial platforms, in accordance with SOC-CSIRT protocols. Perform detailed analysis of escalated incidents from Associate Analysts, employing advanced tools and methodologies as per SOC-CSIRT guidelines. Assess the scope, impact, and nature of incidents to determine suitable actions for containment, eradication, and recovery. Maintain precise records of all incident response activities and decisions. Provide training and mentorship to Level 1 analysts. Manage and support personnel escalations. Collaborate with other security team members to devise and implement strategies to safeguard the organization's IT infrastructure. Communicate clearly and effectively with SOC team members and, when necessary, with stakeholders across the organization. Stay informed about the latest security threats and vulnerabilities.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional results for our clients. Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, CCNA, CEH, or similar are advantageous.

3-5 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:

Cloud infrastructure design, planning, and management. Digital Forensics / Incident Response. SOC Analyst, SOC Management, Incident Management experience. SIEM / Correlation / Ticketing / Alerting. Malware analysis, reverse engineering, penetration testing, and network security.

Additionally, a solid understanding in at least 3 of the following areas:

SIEM management (Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel). Security network engineering and IDS/WAF systems (Imperva, Palo Alto, etc.). Cloud Service Providers (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.). Linux/Windows system security and administration. Anti-virus and XDR technology (Defender, McAfee, CrowdStrike, Cortex, etc.). Incident Response (Blue Teaming). Penetration Testing (Red Teaming). Threat Intelligence. Vulnerability Management. Experience with coding/scripting (Python, Java, Ruby, etc.) is a plus. Strong understanding of security and audit standards (e.g., ISO17799, ITSEC, PCI/DSS, ISO27000, COBIT, SSAE, etc.). Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment while thinking creatively. Self-disciplined, self-motivated, and capable of organizing and prioritizing tasks effectively. A desire to learn and introduce new ideas, test, and implement them. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with personnel at all levels, both internally and externally. High integrity and discretion in managing confidential information. Proficient in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills to achieve results in a multicultural setting.
