About the Role
This is a full-time position as a Travel Industry Sales Director, reporting to the Director of Sales. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and increasing market share in the travel industry.
Job Description
As a Travel Industry Sales Director, your primary focus will be on developing and executing business strategies to drive revenue growth and increase market share. You will be responsible for:
- Identifying and targeting group customers that will generate business for the hotel
- Negotiating, drafting, generating, and confirming group contracts to ensure hotel budget and revenue targets are achieved
- Adjusting group pricing and recommending group concessions as needed to secure group business in support of hotel budget targets
- Utilizing various prospecting resources to solicit and secure business on behalf of the hotel
- FOLLOWING UP on all business inquiries and leads and qualifying business to generate group room nights and associated food and beverage revenue to impact RevPar performance
- Creating and executing account plans for assigned market territory to ensure maximum group revenue and budgeted group targets are achieved
- Achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and direct sales goals including outside sales calls, prospecting calls, site inspections, and entertainment as outlined
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Treating active selling, solicitation, and business development as #1 job priority
- Allocating time and resources as appropriate for account potential
- Scheduling activities effectively and meeting deadlines
- Handling sales calls and trips in a cost and time-efficient manner and within compliance of established budgets
- Planning activities in advance. Ability to coordinate special events, promotions, and other required management duties as assigned
- Tracking and focusing on conversion to ensure hotel revenue objectives are impacted and achieved
- Writing clear and effective sales correspondence
- Making a strong and positive impression on clients in individual and group settings
- Contacting customers in-house to promote goodwill and foster additional business or repeat business to property or sister property
- Developing and utilizing sales skills in all sales interactions
- Scoring 90% or higher in sales MCA shop calls to ensure standards are met and sales skills are used to maximum effort
- Cross-selling with catering and group managers and team-selling also where appropriate
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A college degree - 4 years, or equivalent experience strongly preferred
- Previous experience in luxury hotel sales preferred (minimum of 3 years)
- A proven sales track record

Estimated Salary
The estimated salary for this role is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
Location
This role is based in a Four Seasons hotel location, with travel required to other locations as needed.
