Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Financial Reporting Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the correct execution of key responsibilities in the Adidas Global Business Services according to the company's accounting manual. You will also be responsible for processes and the delivery of services with your team.

Your key responsibilities will include leading a team responsible for processing daily operations and month-end closing activities to ensure high-quality records and the resolution of open items. You will also ensure accuracy and correctness of activities performed in your team and provide insights and explanations for pending or errors in transactions.

You will be a Subject Matter Expert for GL/R2R/Financial Reporting related topics and review the work prepared by other team members to ensure that activities are performed as expected. You will also work with other GBS teams to ensure activities carried out are correct and assist in resolving queries and/or issues.

In addition, you will review account reconciliations, ensuring full compliance with pre-defined requirements. You will produce routine analyses, schedules, and summaries for internal and external activities. You will also prepare audit deliverables as required.

You will have the ability to coach and motivate team members to achieve targets and KPIs agreed upon. You will comply with accounting standards, policies, and procedures and be responsible for process documentation (including creation and updates as required).

You will have close contact with local Finance Teams across Adidas subsidiaries and other GBS located in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, handling daily queries such as mismatch-aging in intercompany and non-reconciled items in open reconciliations. You will perform problem analysis and proposals or assessment of solutions and respective implementation.

Key Relationships

You will have key relationships with Market finance Process Owners, IT & Corporate Solutions Group, Accounting Operations team, and other GBS streams.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent accounting knowledge (IFRS)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English in a business setting (B2+)
  • Continuous improvement mindset, process orientation, and a solution-oriented work approach
  • Problem-solving mindset and analytical skills and use of digital tools
  • Self-motivated and self-directed individual
  • Experience with SAP and Power BI is an advantage
  • Experience in a Shared Service environment is an advantage
  • Team management skills
  • University degree in accounting/Finance/Controlling or similar
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience in the accounting/business area
  • Proven work experience in people management/demonstrated ability to manage a medium-sized team

Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. The company also offers excellent benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
