About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale software systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications and services. You'll be responsible for analyzing business requirements, participating in architectural review processes, designing software systems, and leading code reviews. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping us build cutting-edge solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

Responsibilities
  1. Requirements Analysis
  • You'll review, analyze, and provide feedback on requirements and functional designs
  • You'll attend and engage in requirement definition meetings
Software/Application Architecture
  • You'll participate in and lead architectural review processes
Software Design
  • You'll design for larger enhancements, projects, and cross-system/functional enhancements
  • You'll conduct design reviews and provide technical leadership
Development/Coding
  • You'll develop and maintain code for larger enhancements, projects, and integrations
  • You'll fix defects and participate in and conduct peer code reviews
  • You'll follow and propose design and coding standards and processes
  • You'll provide technical leadership
  • You'll conduct code performance analysis, tuning, and review
Application QA
  • You'll develop unit and cross-functional tests, develop test strategies, execute test cases, log issues, manage issues, recommend testing frameworks, record and run automated test scripts, and design automated test scripts
DevOps
  • You'll define the roadmap of automation tools and its value to software engineering practices
  • You'll drive infrastructure requirements
  • You'll review release planning and deployment lists
  • You'll ensure quality and completeness of deployments
Software Reliability & Support Engineering
  • You'll define the roadmap of production change control and its value to software engineering practices
  • You'll drive certification processes working with cross-domain teams
  • You'll take accountability of the operational SLAs
  • You'll be responsible for debugging L2 & L3 incidents/problems
Reporting
  • You'll be responsible for status reporting
  • You'll define and drive release management planning
Technical Project Management
  • You'll provide level of effort (LOE)
  • You'll manage assigned development tasks to schedule/planning, provide leadership and planning for completing development for large enhancements and projects
Other Responsibilities
  • You'll design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications and services using Java, Spring/Spring Boot, and related technologies
  • You'll collaborate with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to define software requirements and specifications
  • You'll write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following best practices and industry standards
  • You'll implement and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure the reliability and quality of code
  • You'll troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues in production and non-production environments
  • You'll optimize application performance, including database queries and application-level optimizations
  • You'll lead code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • You'll stay up-to-date with the latest Java trends, frameworks, and industry developments
Qualifications

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer with:

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in Java development
  • Availability to work in the office twice a week
  • Strong expertise in Java 8 or above SE/EE, Spring, Spring Boot, and related frameworks
  • Proficient in RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
  • Experience with database design and optimization, including SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and asynchronous programming
  • Experience with version control systems like Git
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for learning new technologies
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Kafka: Experience with Apache Kafka, including knowledge of topics, partitions, producers, and consumers
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
Good to Have

The following qualifications would be beneficial:

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Knowledge of ELK stack, Grafana, etc.
