Job Summary:
">We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Communications Officer to join our team at the United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia.
About Us:
">The United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia is a peacekeeping mission established by the UN Security Council to verify the implementation of the ceasefire agreement between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).
Role Overview:
">The Strategic Communications Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy to promote awareness, understanding, and support for the mission's work among local audiences.
Main Responsibilities:
">• Develop and implement a strategic communications plan to achieve the mission's objectives
• Prepare and disseminate a diverse range of communications products, including press releases, statements, and social media content
• Establish and maintain relationships with local media, civil society organizations, government officials, and other stakeholders
• Conduct media outreach and provide timely responses to inquiries from local and international journalists
• Assist in developing and maintaining the mission's website and social media platforms
Requirements:
">• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field
• Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
