Job Description

As a Senior Performance Tester, your primary responsibility will be to conduct final test activities prior to releasing code to a live environment. You'll use deployment notes to ensure that the final code deploys correctly into a like live environment and validate performance in accordance with target performance metrics for the application.

To achieve this, you'll utilize various tools to diagnose and troubleshoot deployment, application, and performance issues. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality software that meets performance targets specified in non-functional requirements across all product sets.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Test software systems, review documentation, and analyze specifications to understand non-functional business requirements.
  • Conduct final deployment validations to ensure correct deployment using deployment notes.
  • Perform smoke tests to verify core functionality completes successfully.
  • Create, maintain, and run performance test suites before and after deployments using recommended toolsets.
  • Determine adequate performance testing coverage in collaboration with Test Manager, Solution Analysts, and Business Users.
  • Troubleshoot code deployments, application errors, and performance test results using recommended toolsets and raise identified bugs.
  • Provide sign-off for all deployments to enable code release to progress to live environments.
  • Maintain technical test environments, performing administration tasks as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to support delivery of performance test activities.
  • Contribute to test planning and strategy, collaborating with QA and development teams to define test objectives, scope, and schedules.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is around $120,000 per year, depending on location and experience. Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in performance testing and diagnostic skills within technologies such as Load/Performance Testing using JMeter/K6 toolset, Diagnostic tools e.g. Fiddler, GCP, Selenium/Playwright (desirable but not essential).
  • Understanding of possible performance workflows/issues and Windows Server monitoring tools.
  • SQL scripting skills and knowledge of MS SQL tracing and profiling.
  • Experience in using defect management tools.
  • Knowledge and experience in Web Services/API testing (SOAP/REST API).
  • Proficiency in understanding software development life cycle (SDLC) and performance testing techniques.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Desirable: ISTQB Certification or other relevant certifications.
