About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Frontend Developer to join our team at Meteor and contribute to the creation of innovative digital solutions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and user-focused interfaces, primarily using React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and TypeScript.

In this role, you will work closely with our design team to ensure precise execution of design concepts and collaborate across departments within an Agile framework. You will have the opportunity to contribute directly to our frontend architecture, participate in code reviews, and advance user experiences through thoughtful development practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain responsive user interfaces, focusing on React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and TypeScript to create visually appealing and efficient applications.
  • Ensure code is optimized for performance and maintainability, following best practices for component composition and reusable UI elements.
  • Work closely with designers to translate wireframes and prototypes into pixel-perfect interfaces.
  • Engage in Agile development practices, including planning sessions, retrospectives, and backlog grooming, to enhance team efficiency and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Frontend developer with 5 plus years of experience primarily in React.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Very good knowledge of Vanilla JS (functional programming, async/await, Promises, arrow functions, closures, etc).
  • Very good knowledge of Typescript.
  • A good understanding of how react works (Context API, function components, react hooks, virtual dom).
  • Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, MobX) and data fetching libraries (e.g., React Query, RTK Query, SWR).
  • Knowledge of react patterns like composition, avoiding prop drilling, component as children, component as props, component as functions.
  • Solid understanding of responsive design and mobile-first development principles.

What We Offer:

  • USD 4,000 - 6,000 base salary depending on experience and location.
  • Role type: Full-time Contractor
  • Location: Colombia (Remote - Work from home)
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Recruiting Process:

  • Application / Screening: We will ask you a short questionnaire to get to know you a little bit better and ask you for some additional inputs to see if you qualify for the position.
  • Skills Assessment: You will be asked to complete a few exercises and/or projects designed to recreate the work tasks that you will be responsible for if you are given the role.
  • Skills Assessment Interview: This is a 60 min - 90 min conversation where we further test your skills, learn about your previous working experiences, and evaluate culture fit to the role and company.
  • Hiring Manager Final Interview: This is a 30 min - 60 min conversation with the position's Hiring Manager (and potentially a few company team members) to get to know you better and to set the expectations and vision for the role.
