Job Description
We seek a skilled Full Stack Engineer (Rails) to join our team in Colombia. This role involves designing and optimizing key features within a high-performing Ruby on Rails application. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leveraging modern tech to develop, maintain, and troubleshoot systems that drive employee ownership forward.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance features for the core Ruby on Rails application.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement new features.
- Optimize application performance, database queries, and overall system architecture.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot software defects, performance bottlenecks, and system failures.
- Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in Ruby on Rails and web development.
Qualifications Needed
To excel in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of four years of experience building software in a team environment or equivalent expertise.
- At least two years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails or equivalent.
- Skill in writing code that is accessible, scalable, maintainable, and high-performing.
- Experience with background job processing environments, such as Sidekiq or other ActiveJob processors.
- Proficiency in writing complex queries for relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
- Comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and public communication.
- Ability to work within US time zones for team collaboration, regardless of physical location.
Salary and Benefits
This position offers an estimated salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include a five-day work week, 20 vacation days per year, comprehensive prepaid medical care, free upskilling through Emapta Academy courses, and a customized Emapta laptop and peripherals.
