Lead Networking Architect

The Xbox Platform Networking & Multiplayer Team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to design and build the next generation of networking, multiplayer, and communications technology for the Xbox platform. As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you will be responsible for developing expertise in areas such as developer-facing SDKs, large-scale studios, and in-game chat ecosystems.

• Create reliable and efficient networking and multiplayer code that is maintainable and understandable.
• Develop expertise in areas of responsibility and share knowledge with others within the team to drive progress.
• Collaborate with teams across the Xbox organization and industry partners to estimate individual schedules for work delivery and identify needs that are not spoken.

• A bachelor's degree in an engineering-focused discipline or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of industry software design and development experience.
• 2+ years of industry experience with C/C++.
• 2+ years of industry experience demonstrating familiarity with fundamental networking technologies such as TCP, UDP, IP, and REST.
• Advanced English level.

• Peer-to-peer networking (mesh networks).
• Peer-to-host networking (server networks).
• Experience authoring and maintaining developer-facing APIs.
• Experience with game programming or game engine integration.
