Job Summary:

The Director, Accounting (Services – Deal Desk) plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity of financial statements for the Services business unit. This position requires strong leadership skills to engage teams, optimize processes, and establish internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Partner with business sales leads and finance partners to advise on accounting-related matters for customer revenue contracts.
  2. Ensure proper revenue recognition and SFDC opportunity creation for consulting and marketing services contracts.
  3. Provide feedback and comments on draft customer contracts to ensure key terms for revenue recognition and accounting treatment.
  4. Lead the implementation of Salesforce process improvements and communicate with Sales and Delivery teams to resolve issues.
  5. Assist with management reporting, including variance analysis and technical position memos.
  6. Liaise with Regional Controllers on global initiatives to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  7. Review processes to mitigate risks and identify opportunities for automated solutions.
  8. Partner with the finance operations team to implement front-end and back-end controls.
  9. Critical role in finance integrations of new Services acquisitions into SFDC order-to-collect process workflow.
  10. Support business unit controllerships and technical accounting team.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  2. Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant required.
  3. Established credibility as a trusted advisor on complex technical matters.
  4. Strong communication and leadership skills, with emphasis on financial and business acumen.
  5. Experience assessing the effectiveness of financial control design and implementation.
  6. Experience partnering with various work streams in process improvement initiatives.
  7. Demonstrated successful oversight of complex accounting matters.
  8. Confident and poised influencer with analytical and leadership skills.
  9. Experience building collaborative working relationships with stakeholders.
  10. Proven ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
