The Rating Analyst is a vital individual contributor who collaborates effectively with their team.
This role involves interacting with investors and issuers, participating in meetings and on-site visits, and preparing material for BRC Ratings. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and industry knowledge.
- Under direct management, the analyst analyzes routine and non-routine problems, develops industry expertise, and identifies risk factors.
- This position offers exposure to market leaders and senior analysts, providing opportunities for growth within the company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Analyzing financial statements of medium-sized companies and complex entities with support from the manager and senior analyst.
- Conducting surveillance of rated debt issues and issuer's ratings, with the possibility of acting as a primary analyst for less complex entities.
- Demonstrating an understanding of rating principles, working knowledge of BRC S&P Ratings criteria, and contributing to researching criteria development needs.
- Contributing to credit analysis using BRC Ratings - S&P Global's rating methodology and standards, Excel, financial models, financial data, and financial statement analysis.
- Maintaining a centralized source of news information, including digital media, and carrying out research for monitoring the industry, examining corporate or municipal financial information.
- Supporting the team in spreadsheet and database development, maintenance, and analytics, including extracting financial and economic data from source materials and inputting into group/company applications, and performing financial modeling.
