Job OverviewYou'll design and optimize key features within our high-performing Ruby on Rails application, working alongside a passionate team using modern tech.
Responsibilities:
- Design, Develop, and Maintain: Design scalable, high-performance features for the core Ruby on Rails application.
- Collaborate with Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement new features.
- Optimize Performance: Optimize application performance, database queries, and overall system architecture.
- Write Clean Code: Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot Issues: Identify and troubleshoot software defects, performance bottlenecks, and system failures.
- Stay Current: Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in Ruby on Rails and web development.
Requirements
Our ideal candidate has:
- A minimum of four years of experience building software in a team environment or equivalent expertise.
- At least two years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails or equivalent.
- Skilled in writing code that is accessible, scalable, maintainable, and high-performing.
- Experience with background job processing environments, such as Sidekiq or other ActiveJob processors.
- Proficient in writing complex queries for relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
- Comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and public communication.
- Ability to work within US time zones for team collaboration, regardless of physical location.
