Job Title: Engineering Manager Toronto

Rush Street Interactive is a market leader in online casino and sports betting, operating real-money gaming with its brands: BetRivers.com, PlaySugarHouse.com, and RushBet.co. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of sprint and quarterly goals, ensuring timely and high-quality results.
  • Create clarity for the team, setting sprint, team, and career goals.
  • Solve complex problems within the team, communicating proactively with proposed solutions.
  • Identify and clear bottlenecks and roadblocks for the team, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Monitor and maintain agreed engineering best practices and defined processes.
  • Improve the delivery process continuously, listening to feedback from the team, PO, SEM, and Head of Delivery.
  • Provide feedback to PO, SEM, and Head of Delivery on inefficiencies in the current process.
  • Implement or follow up on improvement ideas.
  • Help POs create specs and scope features, providing feedback early and often.
  • Drive scoping of sprints with the team, using input from the Product Owner.
  • Break down large deliverables into manageable chunks, promoting technical excellence within the team.
  • Understand and cater to the personal needs of each team member, managing morale and motivation.
  • Lead recruiting efforts and make headcount recommendations for the team.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Demonstrated track record of applying software engineering practices and the software development life cycle to deliver features.
  • Experience in using Jira and Confluence to manage software delivery.
  • Capable of participating in high-level technical discussions.
  • Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving complex problems.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • History of skillfully prioritizing and effectively managing multiple tasks and projects.
  • Experience in reviewing business requirements and translating into delivery plans.
  • Excellent communication skills, including presenting technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven history of mentoring and coaching team members to improve performance.
