Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the technical Level 2 team responsible for cloud operations and incident resolution.
  • Ensure that incident response protocols are adhered to according to operational guidelines.
  • Lead and coordinate incident response teams to reduce downtime and mitigate operational impacts.
  • Implement and maintain cloud monitoring solutions to proactively detect and resolve potential issues.
  • Foster continuous improvement initiatives within the cloud operations team, ensuring comprehensive documentation of operational procedures and incident reports.
  • Guarantee that all documentation is current and accessible for team reference.
  • Integrate cloud operations with broader IT Service Management (ITSM) processes to enhance service delivery efficiency.
  • Prioritize and address issues based on their significance to users and critical business operations.
  • Ensure the team delivers prompt and precise support daily, monitoring performance against individual and team KPIs, and alerting management to any risks that may hinder KPI achievement.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Managers across product lines to streamline escalation processes and consistently monitor escalation health.
  • Gather customer feedback and relay it to key stakeholders, ensuring the team is informed.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate new team members during their onboarding phase, while working with management to meet the professional development needs of the team.
  • Maintain in-depth process knowledge and develop knowledge repositories.
  • Manage shift schedules to ensure 24/7 operational coverage.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills

  • Relevant certifications in AWS, Azure, and ITIL frameworks are advantageous.
  • A total of 8-10 years of pertinent experience.
  • Technical expertise in managing both public and private cloud environments.
  • Experience in operations, including multi-cloud management and IT services.
  • Proven track record in leading incident response teams and managing critical incidents to ensure timely resolutions and minimize downtime.
  • Experience in ensuring compliance with Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for incident response and resolution.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong sense of customer empathy.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a leadership or managerial role within a cloud operations team.
  • Familiarity with major cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, along with on-premise support experience.
  • Strong incident response and management skills, capable of leading teams during critical incidents and coordinating resolution efforts.
  • Proficiency in operationalizing alerts to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks, particularly in incident, problem, and change management.
  • Understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Leadership capabilities to motivate and manage teams within the cloud operations environment.
  • Excellent documentation skills for maintaining operational records and incident reports.
  • Ability to analyze trends and identify opportunities for improvement in alert management.
  • Understanding of ITSM processes and their integration with cloud operations for efficient service delivery.
