Job Description

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services team is seeking a Customer Practice Manager to lead and/or support significant customer programs during the solution and pursuit stages. This role involves developing a long-term Professional Services strategy and executing it with customers. The ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor for our customers, responsible for all aspects of business development, deal structuring, deal support, and closure in those accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Engage customers and collaborate with AWS sales and partner teams to develop strong customer and partner relationships.
  2. Assess customer marketplace circumstances, organizational readiness, and C-level sponsor willingness to initiate conversations that lead to broader strategic transformation programs.
  3. Envision and inspire customers to adopt AWS solutions.
  4. Identify and develop specific opportunities and related business cases.
  5. Deal shaping, including estimations and deal pricing.
  6. Contract negotiations and closing.
  7. Enable cloud transformation by developing long-term cloud strategies with customers.
  8. Support the commercial relationship by planning and implementing project portfolios.
  9. Execute contracts as the single point of contact for customer executives.
  10. Educate customers on AWS services and translate them into clear business value propositions.
  11. Be an advocate for customers by working with AWS engineering teams to convey partner and enterprise customer feedback as input to AWS technology roadmaps.
  12. Oversee the delivery of projects in accounts, ensuring high-quality delivery.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 7+ years of technical specialist, design, and architecture experience.
  • 5+ years of database experience (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis).
  • 7+ years of consulting, design, and implementation of serverless distributed solutions experience.
  • 5+ years of software development with object-oriented language experience.
  • 3+ years of cloud-based solution (AWS or equivalent), system, network, and operating system experience.
  • 7+ years of external or internal customer-facing, complex, and large-scale project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or 7+ years of professional or military experience.
