About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our team at TD SYNNEX. As an Accounting Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising and directing the workflow of the accounting staff to ensure that objectives are being met in a timely manner. You will support internal and external customers, manage day-to-day activities, and identify opportunities to streamline processes and procedures. You will also supervise and support critical accounting, finance, reporting, and/or related functions, providing guidance, training, motivation, and work scheduling for staff. You will support the Manager and/or Director as appropriate, and mentor and develop staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of department procedures, systems, and critical issues.
  • Handle issues affecting daily performance, communicating with other departments and outside sources as required to resolve issues. Escalate to management as needed.
  • Provide upper management and other departments with accurate, timely, and useful communications, including reports and analysis to enable them to make appropriate decisions.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with other departments, internal and external customers.
  • Oversee the documentation of departmental policies and procedures and supervise activities to ensure the policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure that staff productivity is monitored and maintained at an acceptable level such that work is completed accurately, procedures are being followed, and deadlines are being met.
  • Ensure that staff receives developmental training in order to improve their competencies or build strengths.
  • Assist Manager in staff supervision: Provide comprehensive input on periodic staff reviews, maintain employee records, conduct established performance plans and developmental activities for individuals on the team, assist in hiring and training new personnel, and make recommendations for additional training.
  • Manage the daily influx of business related to peak times and adjust staff accordingly to meet Service Level Agreements.
  • Monitor goals and key performance indicators.
  • Develop and maintain monthly reporting.
  • Analyze metrics to measure performance and identify opportunities.
  • Serve as liaison to other departments in developing and/or administering strategies. Support other departments with ad-hoc projects and special investigations.
  • Take ownership of and/or work on special projects as assigned.
  • Assist in formulating ideas that will lead to process improvements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Meet attendance and punctuality standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience or advanced degree in specific job area.
  • Ability to assign duties and resources where necessary to achieve success.
  • Ability to analyze data required to recommend business solutions.
  • Ability to identify new sources of business data.
  • Ability to forecast the impact of each solution and implement the best solution.
  • Ability to measure the impact after implementation and adapt the solution as necessary.
  • Ability to react quickly to changing needs, meet SLA's, and manage the workload of staff accordingly.
  • Ability to ensure processes are well controlled and to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Understand corporate department objectives and functions.
  • Knowledge and application of Intermediate/Advanced Excel, Intermediate/Advanced Access (preferred), and Intermediate PowerPoint (preferred).
  • Generally manages team members doing similar tasks. May manage exempt and/or nonexempt team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptable to change, high decision quality, professionalism, team work, ability to recognize and reward team members, ability to hire, develop, and retain talent, ability to effectively deal with employee relations issues, demonstrates leadership and self-assuredness.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
